Why 85% of the global population is selfish?
Selfishness every where? Human beings are exploited by human beings? Resources natural and artificial are exploited by men? Love has disappeared from our life? Even family members do not have trust in their partners? Why Is this the major problem faced by today's world?

- You are dead right, human's are the without doubt the worst species "god" ever created. The sooner global warming does us in, the better the planet will be.
- Every human is selfish. We always have been, and always will be.
- Marty .... everyone is a mirror!
- The answer is simple. Because since we are old enough to be aware of ourselves and our surroundings, the instincts of survival and competition are cultivated in us. The growing up process includes being taught to trace the limits of our own territory. Whether we are taught consciously or unconsciously, the truth is that even our parents cultivate this instinct of survival in our character. They think they teach us how to protect ourselves and be firm in our choices regardless of the outer influences, but at the same time, they blow into us a spirit of survival. And the spirit of survival is strongly attached to selfishness. However, if parents or the environment don't determine us to develop this spirit, society will do it later. It's unavoidable. Evey human being has a certain amount of ego. This ego reacts strongly to the outer influences. Animals and humans are really similar in this way. It's that part of the instinctive ego that makes us react like this. Some people are born with a certain amount of selfishness, others develop it during life time due to certain circumstances and factors that favor this development.
- I am an after school teacher for elementary students, and the selfishness begins at a very early age, the problem today is parents are not doing anything about it. I see parents everyday and never do they say hello to me, ask me and questions about their child, and I am with them just as many hours as their children on some days. When I have kids I will make sure I know who is around my children.
- Like someone said above, Everybody is selfish! Their is no such thing as a selfless act.The person always benefits somehow someway.Getting rewards and praise for doing something, or helping because it makes you feel good. Its totally human to be selfish and I don't think its always bad. There are good ways to be selfish, like volunteering and bad ways to be selfish like exploitation. It will never change.Just hope more people will be the good kind of selfish.
- Many people are handicapped by an inability to care. Others care only about certain people, like their own family members, people in their tribe, etc. Sometimes it's because they think survival depends on it. But that is a short-sighted view. We are so interdependent in the world today that it is in our self interest to develop more compassion for others. It is the not-caring that causes so many other problems in the world, and then we all suffer. How many wars could have been avoided, I wonder, if people had just been able to care?
- Where'd you get them figures, did you make them up? Makes me wonder what else you're making up. I bet you lie all the time. Are you a pathological liar, or just pathological? Airheaded questions don't really deserve a reply , in your case I made an exception. Feel honored.
