What are the ways of increasing foreign direct investment in a country?

The growth equation is brutally simple.  "No investment; no growth.” In the face of emerging challenges and competition for foreign direct investment, I would like to know what are the measures to enhance the attractiveness of the Foreign Direct Investment for a country.
