Nato Phonetic Alphabet Knowledge Base

Whats the point the nato phonetic alphabet? the nato phonetic alphabet has words to represent letters, Tango for T, Hotel for H, India for I. Does the military say 'Hotel India' instead of saying 'Hi'? If so, why?
Punctuation in Nato Phonetic Alphabet? I was mostly wondering how you separate words when using the NATO phonetic alphabet or equivalent. Do you just pause for a certain amount of time? Or say the word "space"? I know a period is "stop" or "full stop", but what about hyphens or commas? Seems like certain sentences could be mis-understood without certain punctuation.
New NATO Phonetic Alphabet? Are there plans for or is there a new or modified NATO phonetic alphabet? I heard "Saber" and "Grid" being used in a context that suggested they were part of the alphabet, but I thought Sierra and Golf were used for those letters.

Have there ever been any problems with the phonetic letter delta (for D) and the callsign "Delta"? Sounds like we're asking for trouble. what else should i do (Marine Corps)? my goal is to be a USMC scout sniper. i have wanted to serve in the Marine Corps since i was 9 years old. i was a Young Marine from age 8 to 15, halting due to a bad dirtbiking accident. i am now 21 years old. i can run 5 miles straight with out stopping in under 28 minutes in boots, long sleeve shirt and long pants. currently working on being able to run 8 miles straight without stopping in under 38 minutes. ive worked up to being able to do 46 dead hang pull ups in a row, than 4 minutes straight of jumping jacks as soon as my feet hit the ground and a 300 yard dash. i practice aggression with the use of a 200 lbs punching bag and special pugil stick that i welded together. it is a 3 foot lead pipe with a 2 1/2 lbs weight welded on each end of the pipe, and duct tape grips. i can place round after round in the exact same hole in a target 630 yards down range with a remington 700 buckmaster edition in 30-06 with a 3.5-15x nightforce scope with an np1-rr recticle. i practice daily with my 700, sig 556 classic and glock 21. i can speak fluent russian, japanese and spanish, and am currently working on french as it is one of my life goals to be fluent in 6 or more languages (excluding english) before i die. i am taking 2 classes. one in the study of the human body and the other in mathematics. i have been studying Marine Corps history since freshman year of highschool, and can recite the Marines' Hymn, Rifle Creed, 11 General Orders of a Sentry word for word and have memorized the entire NATO phonetic alphabet. so, my question is, as already stated, what else can i do to prepare myself? boot camp is backed up all the way until sometime in mid 2010 says my recruiter. it sucks that i have to wait all that time. i feel ready now, ive felt ready for a long time. any other suggestions? i meant to press 8, i have been wanting to serve in the Marine Corps since 8 years old. lol sorry about that. yes ive been to meps. my asvab score was 97.
SAS Selection? How to Prepare? OK I'm 15 nearly 16, when I'm Older I would like to apply for selection for the 23 SAS(R) which is the T.A Version of the normal 22 SAS. I plan use the T.A SAS(R) as a Stepping stone for the Regular SAS. I'm an Ex Army Cadet and Currently a Royal Marine Cadet, I need to know what are the best kind of exercises to do? (push ups, sit ups, weights etc...) I can map read and Navigate by compass very well, I know the NATO Phonetic Alphabet and Basic Field Craft. (Please no offensive answers!!!) Thanks!
